We recently had the pleasure of meeting Juliana and Miguel at Supposey’s summer open house. They shared with us their beautiful proposal story – Miguel had popped the question just a few days earlier on the beach. We instantly connected with them and knew that we wanted their engagement session to be filled with romance, authenticity, and storytelling.

As a photographer, I direct and guide my clients, ensuring that every pose and detail is perfect. However, I have come to realize the importance of taking a step back and capturing unscripted and genuine moments. These are the kind of moments that truly tell a story and bring out the real emotions of the couple.

For Juliana and Miguel’s session, we wanted to create a timeless and romantic atmosphere. We found a naturally beautiful location on Pensacola Beach that encapsulated their love and allowed them to be completely themselves. I gently directed them, suggesting where to place their hands or where to stand, but for the most part, I let them simply exist in the moment.

The result was a series of photographs that captured the essence of their love and the beauty of their relationship. The images were unposed, raw, and full of emotion. Looking at them, you can feel the connection between Juliana and Miguel, their joy, and their anticipation for their future together.

This experience has taught me the importance of balancing guidance with allowing genuine moments to unfold naturally. It’s about finding a delicate balance between direction and allowing the couple to be themselves. This is what brings out the real and authentic moments that truly touch the heart.
