While we’re known for the collective photo + film experience we provide, our creative journeys began long before we became“The Higgins.”
Madison
For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by photographs.
I loved flipping through family photo albums, and the fact that each image unlocked a story from my parents’ past—their early life as entrepreneurs, memories of family members I never knew, and even my own first moments.
When my father gifted me a camera at age 10, my fascination only grew. I started by photographing horseback riding competitions, shooting yearbook spreads, and begging my friends to model for me. At that time, I never imagined that wedding photography would become my lifelong career. I thought I was headed to nursing school, but one huge leap of faith led me down my own entrepreneurial path—and when I look back, it all makes sense.
The joy and fulfillment I discovered through photography at a young age along with my natural-born desire to serve is the foundation of what I do through Higgins Photo + Film. I don’t just enjoy serving our couples on one of the most important days of their lives. I’m called to it.
Zach
When faced with the question of which career path to take, I knew exactly what I didn’t want:
to sit at a desk all day and perform the same tasks over and over again. I wanted something exciting. I just wasn’t sure what that would look like.
My innate desire to capture meaningful moments paired with my phone’s exploding camera roll seemed to indicate that wedding videography was the way forward. When Madison suggested I give it a shot, I remember praying for God to give me confirmation—and He did (but that’s a story for another day).
Everything fell in line perfectly, and here I am today. With a natural observational style that ensures our couples can relive every aspect of their wedding day, I aspire to create unpredictable films that feel authentic. My path and purpose: To truly capture and preserve the beauty, aesthetic, details, and emotions of every moment.
