The Florida Wedding Day Miracle

The week leading up to Kelsey and Antonio’s Sydonie Mansion wedding was filled with anticipation and a little bit of anxiety. On wedding day, the weather forecast showed up to 95% chance of rain all day. I have never seen the forecast project this much rain at every hour of the day, but Kelsey and Antonio remained calm and focused on what mattered most.

As with every other wedding we have the honor of documenting, we pray for our couple and the day. As we were praying on the drive to Sydonie Mansion, the words “I pray for a supernatural 50 mile radius around the venue where no rain can cross” fell out of my mouth. If I’m being totally honest, I thought it was a silly thing to pray for in the moment, but I said it anyways because I felt an unction to.

Let me tell you. God is faithful and He cares about the smallest of details. For a day that called for rain at every hour, it only sprinkled for a few minutes twice. None of our plans were interrupted and the sun even poked through the clouds halfway through Kelsey & Antonio’s ceremony!

What’s even wilder to me is the conversation I overheard in the vendor room of Sydonie. Someone said, “I have never seen anything like this before. The clouds and thunderstorms seemed to make a circle around the venue.” The way Zach and I looked at each other and grinned. We knew. In that moment God was reminding me that He hears our prayers, even the ones that seem silly. And that faith can truly move mountains. He is so good!

The Details

Kelsey and Antonio were very intentional with every detail they chose to include in their European-inspired wedding. Love notes written on napkins, passed apps & a raw oyster bar, a warm candlelit dinner, flaming donuts, custom t-shirts instead of a garter toss, and a floral purse are just a few of many.
