After pouring so much into our wedding couples, I realized that I had not done a family session in a few months. It humored me to see the gap on our social media feed from the last time we posted a family session. When Amy reached out about taking her family’s photos near 30A, I was so excited for the opportunity to switch things up a little. Well I am SO glad she reached out about one of the last dates I had available for lifestyle sessions, because her little family reminded me of why I love capturing young families.

My approach to families is not perfectly posed images where everyone looks perfect. I love searching for the small moments that make your family you. I try to think of the little details that will really matter to my families when they look back on these images years from now. The little things that are constantly changing as the littles grow older. Maybe that’s their curiosity, inclination to pick up every seashell they see on the beach, or running as fast as they can along the shore.

Those are the images you can feel and remember how things once were before the kids got older. Before they no longer sit in the sand and throw sand. Before they trade sandcastles for tanning. The list goes on. But I am so grateful for the families who trust me to document the small details.
