Esther and Phil’s wedding at the Buffalo History Museum in Upstate New York was a stunning an elegant affair. Despite a rainy morning, the venue provided us with a beautiful overhang that kept us dry while taking photos and videos. It was honestly perfect timing! Right when the ceremony ended, the clouds made way for the sun to pop out and gave us the most beautiful sunset!!
The simplicity and timelessness of the wedding struck a chord with us. From the warm glow of the candlelit ceremony to the exquisite details, everything had a sense of refined and classic beauty. It was a joy to photograph and film such a heartfelt celebration of love. We are so grateful that the couple entrusted us with capturing their special day, flying us all the way to Buffalo, NY.
The Ceremony
Phil did not have many opinions regarding the wedding decor, colors, or even the location. But the one thing he requested was an indoor ceremony. Somehow he just knew that an indoor ceremony would be the best thing for the couple because it happened to start raining during the day and kept sprinkling for a good portion of their vows. The warm candles mixed with the rainy weather made for a beautiful, warm, and romantic ceremony.
More About Our Trip
Overall, we had such a great time photographing and filming this beautiful wedding day in Buffalo, NY. If you know us, you know that we like to be over prepared and early, so that means showing up a few days before your wedding just to make sure nothing happens.
While we were in Upstate New York, we got to visit some of the surrounding areas! The first thing we did after getting off the plane was drive straight to Duff’s and try authentic Buffalo Wings. We loooved the honey mustard wings. Speaking of food, I got to try beef on wec at our couple’s rehearsal dinner and that was amazing!
We took a little day trip to Niagara Falls and got to experience what everyone raves about. The falls were breathtaking and we thought it was unreal that we were so close to another country. The US side of the falls was beautiful, but we will definitely be visiting from the Canadian side next year.
Most of our time was spent scouting locations for the wedding, but we also got to drive around Downtown Buffalo and I found the best little breakfast spot in all of Buffalo: Bagel Jays! Honestly 10/10 coffee and bagels at a super affordable price. I wish we had the same amazing bagels down in Florida haha!
